    Freshman Academy

We are pleased to announce that the 2024-2025 school year is off to a fantastic start and we are excited to share this high school journey with you. We have begun the process of acclimating our Freshman Class to our school culture and ensuring they are set up for a successful school year.

We are excited to announce the opening of the HMSA Freshman Academy, located at 4400 Airpark Boulevard. Freshmen will take core classes (i.e., ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies) at the Freshman Academy. All elective classes will be administered at the HMSA main campus.

All freshmen will begin and end their academic days at the main campus. Scholars will be divided into 2 cohorts. Students in the A.M. Cohort will be bused from the main campus to the Freshman Academy at approximately 7:15 a.m. Students in the P.M. Cohort will spend the morning taking elective classes at the main campus.

At 10:40 a.m., the conclusion of second period, the cohorts will switch campuses. Buses will transport the P.M. Cohort to the Freshman Academy and bring the A.M. Cohort students to the main campus. All freshmen will eat lunch together at the Freshman Academy.

P.M. Cohort students will be returned to the main campus in time for afternoon dismissal at 2:45 a.m.

** Parents, it is very important that you know which cohort your scholar is assigned. In the event you need to pick up or drop off your scholar between 7:00 a.m. and 2:45 p.m., we want to be sure you know which campus you should report to.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact our Parent Liaison, SMSgt Jerrod Webb at 225-614-2488.
